GCSE PE Climbing

The Year 10 and Y11 GCSE PE groups have had a busy 10 Mondays completing a 20 hour climbing course that gained them marks which will go towards their GCSE grade.  Each Monday they travelled to West View Leisure Centre, and, under the instruction of three climbing instructors, completed some amazingly difficult skills, including learning to Abseil, Lead Climb, Traverse, Scale Overhangs and Speed Climb.

The group developed skills they never thought they would be able to master, became very competent climbers.  Special congratualtions have to go to Tom Hardwick, Tyrone Longton, Kirk Davies, Joel Lloyd, Alex Willacy, and Josh Ashcroft, who all managed to climb a V3 boulder, which at one point means having to hang almost up-side-down, showing fantastic core strength.  Well done to all.
