We would like to welcome all staff, pupils and parents back to the new school term and wish them all the best for 2022.

Over the last year we have had to adapt and be flexible in order to protect our school community.  Many of our working practices have changed; some we are happy to leave behind, whilst others have benefited our school and will be kept as ‘Covid keeps’ and adopted as new ways of doing things. In December Government guidance was given to schools in terms of how we now need to operate, and we will follow these and update our risk assessment protocols as appropriate to continue to keep our school community safe and as risk free as possible.

Testing in January

We have been notified by the Government that all pupils in England must take an LFD test (Lateral Flow Device) in school before returning after the Christmas break*. To facilitate this, we will undertake the testing over 2 days were pupils will be tested and resume lessons on receiving a negative test.

Please note that we can only allow those pupils whose parents have previously given consent to be tested. If you haven’t previously given permission but would now like your child to be tested, please email Mr McCreesh  at mccreeshc@st-maryshigh.lancs.sch.uk with your child’s name, year group and date of birth. *Pupils who have had a positive COVID PCR result in the last 90 days do not need to test and those pupils whose parents have refused permission also do not need to test.

Our current timetable for testing and then subsequent return date to school is:
