Our summer reading challenge this year roots back to a classic: Extreme Reading! The aim of this is, during the summer break, to read a great book in a weird, wonderful location. It must be a safe place! Get a great photograph and submit it to earn a house point. You must say WHY you are enjoying this book, or comment on a key theme or idea it explores that you would recommend to others. All year groups and staff welcome to take part.

We are delighted to have been selected for Lancashire Book of the Year 2026, and have already had our first meeting with a group of twenty Year 9 pupils. Books have been shared, and we are excited to journey through the longlist and shortlist to contribute to the decision on which book will be the Lancashire Book of the Year 2026.
