GCSE Results Day 2026

Exceptional Young People, Proud Achievements and Bright Futures!

We are delighted to celebrate our Year 11 pupils and their achievements in this year’s GCSE examinations.

The continued strength of our results reflects the determination shown by pupils throughout their time at Brownedge St Mary’s, together with the high-quality teaching and pastoral support they receive, the dedication of our staff and the encouragement of parents and carers. We are proud to see pupils rewarded for their individual efforts and now able to pursue a wide range of courses, training opportunities and career ambitions.

The breadth of our curriculum continues to give pupils opportunities to discover their strengths, pursue their interests and shine in areas that reflect their individual talents and ambitions. This is evident in further increases this year in the proportion of pupils achieving the highest grades across a wide range of subjects, including Art, Biology, Design Technology, Enterprise, Further Mathematics, Health and Social Care, and Hospitality and Catering. Success in the core subjects provides pupils with an important foundation for their future, but we also recognise the value of high-quality outcomes across the full range of subjects, enabling every pupil to develop their talents and pursue the pathway that is right for them.

Mrs Oddie, Headteacher, said:

“Today is a very special day for our Year 11 pupils, their families and our whole school community. Each set of results tells an individual story of effort, progress and perseverance, and we are incredibly proud of what our pupils have achieved.

“At Brownedge St Mary’s, our Catholic mission shapes every aspect of school life. We seek to recognise the unique gifts of every pupil, encourage them to aim high and support them in becoming confident, compassionate and hopeful young people. Their academic achievements are an important part of that journey and reflect the commitment they have shown over many years.

“I would like to thank our staff for the care, expertise and high expectations they bring to their work each day, and our families for the many ways in which they have supported and encouraged our pupils.

“As our Year 11 pupils leave Brownedge St Mary’s, they take with them far more than their qualifications. They remain valued members of our community, and we hope the knowledge they have gained, the faith they have developed and the values that will remain with them throughout their lives will guide them in all that lies ahead. We wish every one of them happiness and success for the future.”

From our most able pupils gaining an array of the very highest grades, to the pupils who have made the most progress across all subject areas. They are now in a strong position to step out into their next journey in learning, and able to make a difference to the world around them.”
