Over the Easter break, a dedicated group of the school’s Mental Health Champions laced up their walking boots and headed to the Lake District for a fundraising challenge that combined breathtaking scenery with an important cause. The pupils completed a 10‑mile sponsored walk around Ullswater, one of Cumbria’s most iconic lakes, raising vital funds to support individuals in the community who are struggling with their mental health.
The route, known for its sweeping views, rugged paths, and peaceful lakeside stretches, offered both a physical test and a moment of reflection for the young walkers. Despite unpredictable spring weather and the demanding terrain, the group remained determined from start to finish, encouraging one another along the way and demonstrating the teamwork and resilience that define the Mental Health Champions programme.
The fundraising effort received generous support from families, friends, and members of the wider school community. Donations will go directly toward initiatives aimed at improving mental health awareness, providing resources for pupils in need, and supporting outreach projects that extend beyond the school gates.
As the Mental Health Champions return to school, they do so with tired legs, full hearts, and the knowledge that their efforts will make a real difference. Their walk around Ullswater was more than a scenic trek—it was a powerful reminder of what young people can achieve when they come together for a cause that matters.
