The school is celebrating a fantastic sporting achievement after our Year 8/9 Basketball team delivered an outstanding performance at last night’s South Ribble schools tournament. Facing strong competition from across the region, the team rose to the occasion with confidence, teamwork and determination, ultimately securing victory in every single match they played.
Throughout the evening, the boys demonstrated impressive skill on both ends of the court. Their fast‑paced attacking play, disciplined defending and excellent communication set them apart as they took on teams from Wellfield, Balshaws, Leyland St Mary’s and tournament hosts Worden. Each game brought its own challenges, but our players showed resilience and composure, consistently finding ways to outplay their opponents.
Coaches and spectators praised the team’s attitude as much as their athletic ability. From the opening tip‑off to the final whistle, the boys supported one another, stayed focused and represented the school with pride. Their unbeaten run is a testament not only to their talent but also to the hard work they have put into training over recent weeks.
The victory marks a memorable moment for the squad and highlights the growing strength of basketball within the school. Staff are already looking forward to seeing how the team builds on this success in future competitions.
A huge congratulations to all the players involved — an exceptional achievement and a performance the whole school community can be proud of.
